The purpose behind the work
What started off as a cathartic tool on a journey of self-restoration became realised as a gift of great potential when it comes to the healing of humanity.
I’ve experienced art touch my spirit with the hand of healing, my will is now directed toward imparting this feeling onto others.
The current existential situation we find ourselves in is one of great concern.
While the introduction of technology is of immense value in enhancing our ability to broadcast knowledge, facilitate connection and keep us updated with world news, it’s simultaneously removing us from our nature and the lived sensory experience of being human.
In the midst of addictive algorithms, informational echo chambers & brainrot, self-knowledge is becoming less & less commonplace.
This lack of self-understanding has resulted in us becoming disconnected from our purpose.
This disconnection has led to discontent, with the widespread symptom being a loss of passion towards life.
This is the plight of modern society.
We’ve entered a brave new world-esque scenario where Huxley’s characterisation of a technocratic world which was depicted in a fictional novel, has become a reality, within this reality we have become content with trading our individual development for instant gratification.
Generation-Z and those that come after are byproducts of being raised within this inorganic climate for human development. Dysfunction within these generations is widespread and seems to be becoming increasingly severe as time passes.
Generation-Z are in a critical position. We were raised with one foot in the digital realm but not fully consumed by it. Therefore, we were able to undergo important periods of socialisation and adolescent development free from the influence of social media, artificial perceptions perpetuated by algorithms and highly addictive technology.
As a result of this, we understand the nuance of the digital world quite well while also having grown up under certain circumstances that were similar to how ‘millennials’ grew up.
One foot rooted in the traditional way of growing up and the other swamped in this new age of technological co-dependency, some of us belonging to ‘Gen-Z’ have been equipped with the foresight necessary to lead the generation below us out of tragedy and into prosperity.
My contribution occurs in the form of creative practise, where bringing people in touch with their felt experience and inner reality is the focal point of what I do — as I believe wholeheartedly that self-actualisation is one of the only antidotes to existential sickness.
Narration
The work presented here follows a personal journey; documenting my evolution on a path of self-discovery, all the way toward, self-actualisation.
My work from 2022-2025 has involved me prying open my psyche on a journey of self-exploration.
On the one hand, my practise functions as a way for me to explore the submerged content within my own psyche; while on the other hand, it serves as a way for me to offer these insights to the collective of humanity.
Painting and other visual depictions such as drawing are some of the oldest forms of communication we have, possessing the ability to speak across cultures by using the language of the unconscious.
This language is cryptic in form but universal in its function, crossing communicational barriers otherwise restricted by; social class, verbal intelligence, culture and worldly origin; with the only factor in coming to understand it being ones personal experience of the human condition.
This archaic language delivers messages to very old and sophisticated circuitry within the brain, where inputs are received in complex and synaesthetic (multi-sensory) ways.
This language is beyond words but within the mind and body — delivered by sensations surging through our being where we feel first then think secondarily.

For those of you who wish to understand the reasoning which drives my practise I have attached 2 essays that capture the philosophical context my artistic content belongs in.
These writings were crafted as responses to academic units, forcing me to articulate the purpose and precedents of my artistry.
The conviction regarding my artistic philosophy has only strengthened since these writings were formulated. A follow-up essay is pending as I’ve emerged from a cocoon of self-exploration and am beginning to perceive the outside influences which have impacted my internal development. Within this writing, phenomenological exploration will guide discussion surrounding the 4th revolution – that of the digital takeover – I will examine the impact of the digital world on development with focused exploration on masculinity, self-expression and addiction.
